Event Summary :

Arbitration has become the most accepted, internationally recognized dispute resolution mechanism with regard to resolution of commercial disputes in the last 50 years. International arbitration is a leading method for resolving disputes arising from international commercial agreements and other international relationships. International arbitrations are increasing day by day due to increasing International contracts and multi-jurisdiction transactions. The practice of international arbitration is developed so as to allow parties from different legal and cultural backgrounds to resolve their disputes, generally without the formalities of their respective legal systems. Business houses are comfortable in dealing with arbitrations than approaching the courts for dispute resolution.

In terms of the Indian business houses the popular international centres are Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Kualalumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre Dubai International Arbitration Centre and Arbitration under ICC Rules. In India also there are reputed International Arbitration Centres but procedures and practices in International Arbitration are much different from the domestic arbitrations conducted in India. Hence the arbitration Association of India in Association with Exalt communication has come forward to organize a two days interactive work shop on “Handling disputes through international arbitrations” to help the participants to understand the intricacies of International arbitration. The chief Speaker was Mr. S. Ravi Shankar, the President of Arbitration Association of India and a Supreme Court lawyer, who has vast experience in handling of International arbitrations and related litigations. In addition to that speakers are invited from different Institutional arbitration Centres to make presentations.
