Wolters & Kluwer Hong Kong organised an international arbitration Summit in Jakarta on 12th December 2013 in The Dharmavasanga Hotel, Jakarta. This summit was organised with an intention to update and orient the corporate counsel of Indonesia and nearby countries about the recent developments in the Field of International Arbitration specifically with reference to South East Asian countries. The summit was a one full day summit attended by arbitrators, arbitration lawyers and corporate counsel from various countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, UAE, Indonesia, Hong Kong, UK, Australia etc., Bani Arbitration Centre the most important international arbitration centre Jakarta provided support to the above said summit. The Topics covered in the above said summit are as follows:
Mr. S. Ravi Shankar who is the Senior Partner of Law Senate law Firm and The National President of Arbitration Bar of India made an elaborate presentation on the points on advantage in Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, why many Indian companies choose to arbitrate under these Institutions. He also explained the procedures followed in India and the law settled in India with regard to International Arbitration and Execution of awards in India. He also explained the advantage of recognizing the awards given by Chinese and Hong Kong International arbitration centres. His presentation was well received by the participants.
