The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) World Chambers Federation (WCF) has expanded its International Certificate of Origin (CO) Accreditation Chain by adding three new members including the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, the Czech Chamber of Commerce, and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
By including them, the CO issued by these chambers will carry the internationally recognised ICC CO label, and can be verified through the ICC’s online verification platform.
The accreditation is expected to strengthen confidence in cross-border trade by making it easier for businesses, customs authorities and financial institutions to verify the authenticity of trade documents.
CO are important documents used in international trade as they certify the country from which goods originate. They help customs authorities to determine the applicable trade rules, allow banks to process trade-related transactions and assist businesses in complying with import and export requirements. A reliable verification system also helps reduce the risk of fraud and unnecessary delays when it comes to international shipments.
The accreditation of the three chambers was confirmed during the ICC World Chambers Federation International Certificate of Origin Council meeting held on 2 and 3 June 2026. During this meeting, the efforts to develop non-preferential rules of origin and ways to expand access to digital verification services for chambers across different jurisdictions, were also discussed by the members.
The ICC Certificate of Origin Accreditation Chain was established in 2012 to promote proper standards in the issuance and verification of CO. Since its launch, the network has continued to grow, and it now includes more than 800 chambers across 43 countries. By bringing recognised chambers under the same accreditation framework, the initiative aims to improve transparency, trust in trade documentation, and efficient and reliable international trade across the world.
